Building a positive culture where people can thrive is no longer optional - it's a necessity.

As a leader, your job is to create a positive impact and help your team members feel motivated, confident, and safe.

This is essential for attracting and retaining high-performing and passionate individuals.

So, what does making a positive impact actually look like?

When you interact with your team members, you want to inspire them to take the next step, be bolder, and collaborate more positively.

This helps activate a region of their brain where motivation, creativity, courage, and empathy lie.

By making people feel positive, you can help them grow, unleash their potential, and foster positive collaboration.

However, if you make your team members feel stressed, pressured, or afraid, you'll create a negative impact.

This can trigger their survival brain and kill their motivation, potential, courage, confidence, and creativity.

It can also lead to inaction, and personal conflicts, and affect teamwork, well-being, and performance. The below image summarizes it well.

It's important to be aware of the impact you're making on your team - how you make them feel - as this influences the degree of collaboration, innovation, and success, and overall dynamic.

Middle of my career in global corporations, I had to face the brutal reality of not making a positive impact despite good intentions.

And it was because I was unaware:

  • of the degree of my impact and what chain of reactions it awakens
  • how much my mind sabotage was at the root cause here causing me to lead from my fears of failure, rejection, or proving I'm enough
  • that team reflects me & it all starts with me.

So it was a pivotal point in my life when I committed to transforming myself in other to be a better version of myself and a leader that make a positive impact- leading consciously and intentionally.

What about you?

Do you know what impact you are making?

Ask your employees & look at your organization's dynamics and behaviors - they reflect you and will you hints! Take responsibility for growing yourself and becoming a better version of yourself.

Understand the chain reactions your actions may awaken and any uncover how your mind sabotages you and cause your ineffective behaviors. You will need support from a professional coach on that.

Remember, your team reflects you, and it all starts with you.

Your team and organization need you to lead from that space, otherwise, they will go to work somewhere else soon.

Take action to lead intentionally!
